Good news! The Canary Islands offer incentives for the newly self-employed. Your social security contributions will be reduced to 80€ for the first year, and stay the same in your second year as long as your earnings are below the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI).
Once it exceeds that, or you reach the end of your second year, your monthly contributions will correspond to your income bracket, starting at €225 a month for the lowest earners.
We’ll register you with the social security and tax offices and give you advice on setup, tax, retentions, invoicing and other practical information to get you started on the right foot.
The government offers grants to newly self-employed workers, subject to availability. We’ll advise you whether there are any available and help you with the application.
If you’re new to the island, you’ll need your NIE and Residencia or TIE to get set up in the system.
If you already have your NIE we can get the ball rolling while you go through the residency application process. We work with a company that specialises in taking care of residency paperwork, to make the process run a lot more smoothly.
