What do I need to declare in my income tax declaration in Lanzarote?

The income tax return is called the “declaration de Renta” and is due by the end of June every year.

We start taking bookings in April to process your return, which includes all income earned from January through to December the previous year, from a salaried job or your own business.

It will also include property rental income, capital gains, interest or dividends earnt, pension income and any income from assets abroad (is that correct?).

You can deduct various expenses including a percentage of medical or optician bills (with a full invoice paid by card or bank transfer), contributions to a pension plan and in some situations other expenses too. We’ll advise you further when you book your appointment.
