Everything you need to know about tax and accounting in the Canary Islands

If I’m self-employed in the Canary Islands, do I just need to do an annual tax return?

As a self-employed entrepreneur or “Autonomo” you’ll need to file quarterly and annual tax returns. We’re here to make that process easy, and keep your official books and records up to date monthly to make the calculations easy each quarter and year as needed. We’ll advise you of the amount due before it’s taken, and guide you with deductible expenses to make the most of your profit.

As well as your annual tax return at the end of the calendar year, we’ll prepare your personal annual return or “Declaration de Renta” the following year, which is due no later than the end of June. Again, we’ll guide you with deducting expenses and can advise you of any refund as soon as we prepare the application.

You’ll need to make an appointment for us to submit the “Declaration de Renta”. We take appointments from the start of April until towards the end of June.
