Sorry, but no. A lot of buyers aren’t made aware of the Spanish Property Tax you have to pay each year, based on the cadastral value of your property and the number of days rented. If you never rent the property, we base it on 365 days.
If you haven’t been paying it, get in touch so we can arrange back payments and avoid any fines further down the line.
You’ll also pay the IBI, which is the equivalent of a council tax, and a Basura tax, which is your contribution towards the local rubbish collection. You’ll have to provide receipts for these if you ever sell your property to prove there are no outstanding debts with the town hall, so there’s no getting out of them.
