Everything you need to know about tax and accounting in the Canary Islands

How much tax do self-employed “Autonomos” pay in the Canary Islands?

This is a little complicated in Spain because they have a system where the more you earn, the more you pay. Basically, you pay 20% tax on your earnings each quarter and then at the end of the year the tax office will balance up the difference if needed. This may work in your favour, or you may find yourself owing if you had a particularly profitable year.

If you want to look at projected earnings to get a more specific figure, we’re happy to go over this in a consultation with you.
